Data we collect
We collect information you provide directly (name, email, phone number, NIN/BVN for KYC), data generated by your use of the platform (rent transactions, maintenance records, analytics events), and technical data (IP address, browser type, device identifiers via cookies and similar technologies).
How we use your data
Your data is used to operate and improve the Hubit platform, process payments via Paystack, send notifications via Termii SMS and email, perform identity verification, generate analytics, and comply with Nigerian regulatory obligations including NDPR and CBN directives.
Data sharing
We share data with Paystack (payment processing), Termii (SMS delivery), Cloudinary (media storage), Reloadly (utility and subscription bill payments), and Anthropic / HuggingFace / Groq (AI features). We do not sell your personal data. We may disclose data where required by Nigerian law or court order.
Your rights (NDPR)
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation you have the right to access, correct, delete and port your personal data. You may also withdraw consent or object to processing. Contact privacy@hubit.africa to exercise these rights. We will respond within 30 days.
Data retention
Account data is retained for as long as your account is active and for 6 years thereafter to comply with Nigerian financial record-keeping requirements. KYC data is retained as mandated by NDPR and CBN guidelines.
Security
We protect your data with AES-256 encryption at rest, TLS 1.3 in transit, JWT + refresh-token rotation, account lockout policies, rate limiting, and regular security audits.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated via in-app notification and email at least 14 days before taking effect.
